Carbon Negative

10+ years of 100% No CO2!

Ferve Tickets has been certified Carbon Neutral since 2009
(audited by The Carbon Reduction Institute)

In 2019, we’ve decided to go one better and become #CarbonNegative.

A small percentage of profits will be split across the following accredited habitat and carbon abatement projects to help further reduce climate impacts on our planet.

Rimba Raya Biodiversity Reserve Logo

Rimba Raya habitat and reforestation scheme protects > 65,000 hectares of low lying tropical forest in Indonesia from palm and other deforestation, and is the largest REDD+ project in the world, providing income for local people while maintaining vital ecosystems. It has a Triple-gold validation under the Climate Community and Biodiversity Alliance Standard (CCBA).

Ferve achieves NoCO2 via Indian biomass harvesting

Ferve achieves NoCO2 (100% offset certification) via a carbon offset scheme in India.

Before the implementation of the Indian biomass project, electricity was usually generated by a coal dominated sources. However this has considerable health and other impacts due to the high ash content of Indian coal. To meet rising energy demands, new efficient biomass boilers were installed together with a steam turbines to produce electricity. The new boilers are fuelled with locally available agricultural waste instead of traditional, emission intensive coal. Before the start of the project, these agricultural residues were not used. They were either burned without harnessing the resulting thermal energy, or simply left to decay, thereby generating methane emissions (which are worse than carbon dioxide as greenhouse emissions). The investment required not have been possible without revenue from the sales of carbon credits.
